Vztah veřejného prostoru města a přírody je zásadní pro vytváření zdravých, udržitelných a příjemných městských prostředí. Koncem minulého roku 2023, na své rezidenci v Mexiku City, jsem dokumentovala rostliny a stromy a jejich soužití s městským prostředím a také intervence člověka do městské krajiny - jako je zdobení stromů, květin pomocí pentlí nebo šátků, hlavně v období Dia de los Muertos. Fascinovalo mě pozorovat život rostlin a stromů ve veřejném prostoru a symbolů u některých rostlin, které v sobě nesou smrt, duchovní sílu nebo kulturní identitu.Kladla jsem si otázky a dokumentovala nalezené stromy v mexických ulicích. Co nastane, když původní místo stromu muselo být obloženo betonem? Stromy si během několika let hledají svůj vlastní prostor. Expandují do prostoru, obrůstají neživé, hledají své původní místo, snaží se přizpůsobit a být zase svými původními obyvateli. Působilo to na mě jako kdyby se snažili upozornit na svou vlastní identitu a znázornit svůj otisk místa a historii. Příroda a město nemusí být v opozici; naopak, mohou koexistovat v harmonii, pokud budeme věnovat dostatečnou pozornost jejich potřebám a vzájemným vztahům.V galerii Vitríny Artbiom, která je také zasazena ve veřejném prostoru v okolí sídliště Ďáblice, pracuji s výkladní vitrínou - tedy plochou, která má přivádět pozornost člověka a v daném místě informovat, prezentovat svým obsahem. Stromy - velkoformátové fotografie - vyrůstají pomyslně z vitríny a společně s blištivým podkladem opět upozorňují na své místo ohraničené v definovaném rámu vitríny, kde informují o svém růstu
The relationship between the city and nature is essential for creating healthy, sustainable spaces and a pleasant urban environment. Late last year 2023, during my stay in Mexico City, I documented plants and trees and their coexistence with the urban environment, as well as human interventions in the urban landscape – for example, decorating trees, flowers with ribbons or scarves, especially during the Dia de los Muertos period. I was fascinated by observing the life of plants and trees in public spaces and the symbols in some plants that carry death, spiritual power or cultural identity. I asked myself questions and documented trees found on Mexican streets. What happens when the original place of a tree has to be concreted? Over the years, trees look for their own space. They expand into space, grow lifeless, look for their original place, try to adapt and be their original inhabitants again. It seemed to me that they were trying to draw attention to their own identity and recognize their imprint on the place and history. Nature and the city do not have to be in opposition; on the contrary, they can coexist in harmony if we pay sufficient attention to their needs and mutual relationships. In the Vitríny Artbiom gallery, which is also located in the public space around the Ďáblice housing estate, I work with a showcase - that is, a surface that is supposed to attract attention and inform and present its content in a given place. Trees - large-format photographs - grow out of the showcases and, together with the shiny background, again draw attention to their place, defined in the frame of the showcase, where they inform about their growth.
